Rating Classes

A single approach: environmental sustainability

The GreenBuilding Rating classifies Kerakoll products in the ECO range into 3 general categories depending on their type and the various manufacturing processes:

  1. Inorganic minerals category
  2. Organic minerals category
  3. Organic fluids category

Each category is linked to 5 objectively measurable environmental indicators.

In the category of inorganic mineral materials, the 5 environmental sustainability criteria called for under the GreenBuilding Rating are:

  • natural mineral content higher than 60%
  • recycled mineral content higher than 30%
  • CO2 emission lower than 250 g/kg
  • low or very low VOC emissions
  • recyclable as an inert material at the end of its life


In the category of organic mineral materials, the 5 environmental sustainability criteria called for under the GreenBuilding Rating are:

  • natural mineral content equal to 30%
  • low or very low VOC emissions
  • reduced solvent content less than 5 g/kg
  • low ecological impact
  • not harmful to health


In the category of organic fluids materials, the 5 environmental sustainability criteria called for under the GreenBuilding Rating are:

  • low or very low VOC emissions
  • water-based
  • reduced solvent content less than 80 g/kg
  • low ecological impact
  • not harmful to health
